Wiscasset, Newcastle among towns getting passenger rail discussions

The Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA) is exploring the possibility of operating seasonal weekend Downeaster service to Midcoast Maine, including the communities of Bath, Wiscasset, Newcastle and Rockland.
Public meetings to discuss the project and receive public input will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 with Newcastle selectmen; at 6 p.m. Jan. 23 with Wiscasset selectmen; and at 5:30 p.m. Jan 24 in the Rockland council chambers.
