Art in the Square opens November 29
The popular “Art in the Square” holiday art show and sale kicks off its eighth consecutive year on Friday, Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving, at 11 a.m.
Traditionally, this is the day everyone starts shopping for the holidays. This benefit exhibition of exceptional art generates funds to help artistic students from our community and should be on your “to do” list. You’ve got to see it to believe it.
The art available offers many styles and mediums so you will find there is something to please every artistic taste. Each original work of art is only $100! And each piece will be available for immediate purchase and to take home, so plan to come early for the best selection.
The event will continue every weekend through December and January, with new art coming in all the time so everyone will have ample time to experience it.
The artists, many of whom are well-known and local favorites, have graciously created these 12 by 12-inch works of art, especially for this show and sale that benefits the Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is awarded to a Boothbay Region High School graduate going to college to pursue a career in the visual arts; and used for the Boothbay region annual Student Art Show (which includes students K-12), and other education-related venues.
“Art in the Square” provides art lovers a perfect opportunity to buy and give original art in the “St. Nick of time” for the holidays.
Show dates and times: weekends only November 29 through January 5, Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays: noon to 5 p.m.
