Bank puts off Davis Island Grill sale
An Edgecomb restaurant will not be going to auction on October18 after all. The Bank of Maine has put off its sale of the former Davis Island Grill and two condominiums attached to the restaurant, an auction company confirmed October 16.
However, a same-day auction the bank planned for the Coburn House in Boothbay was still on, said Stefan Keenan of Keenan Auction Company.
The descriptions of the three Edgecomb properties' boundaries need work; they were too vague, prompting the bank to cancel Friday's sale, Keenan said.
No new date was set.
Plans had called for the Coburn House and each of the Edgecomb properties to be sold separately at the Edgecomb restaurant site on the corner of Route 1 and Eddy Road.
That's still the site for the Coburn House sale, Keenan said. The auction is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday.
