On Saturday Feb. 9 the Boothbay scouts from Troop 271 took part in a Klondike Derby held at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath.
There were many events, such as ... figure 8 snowshoeing while hopping with a chicken between your legs and pulling a boat up a hill with block and tackle; First Aid, knot tying, fire starting, racing with chains, scavenger hunt, Klondike Sled Race, and Quinzee building ... to name a few activities.
The boys had a great time and got to see what the BSA Sea Scouts was like, meet and hang with some older scouts.
The pack won a Boatswain Pipe as first place for their age group, now they just have to learn how to use it!
