Selectmen talk, take no action on primary school
Tue, 10/04/2016 - 7:45am
Selectmen spent 42 minutes in a closed-door session about the former Wiscasset Primary School Monday night, then returned to open session and announced they were taking no action.
The executive session was called to discuss disposition of property. Chairman Judy Colby confirmed in advance it regarded the school, which the town closed in 2015 and has been trying to sell, most recently for $525,000. Following Monday’s session at the municipal building, Colby said there was nothing additional she could say about what was discussed that night.
Asked if the matter might come up at Tuesday night’s selectmen’s meeting, Colby said it was possible. The board meets at 6 p.m. tonight, Oct. 4, at the municipal building.
