Next Town Talk May 17
The talking continues in the Fiction Room at Wiscasset Public Library on Wednesday, May 17 at 3 p.m. This next Town Talk will be a sharing/discussion on who we are and where we came from and why did we land in Wiscasset.
In preparation for reading a non-fiction picture book on Ellis Island, a local teacher, explaining what it meant, asked her third grade class if they could share their ancestry with the class. None could. Sent home to check on this question, students returned with answers that included Boston, Portland and Bath. The next Town Talk will include, of those willing, a sharing/discussion of our individual ancestry. Stories, pictures, articles and/or documents are welcomed.
April’s Town Talk included a sharing of stories and remembrances of local characters. Enlightening to those in attendance, facts and information from this session defined a different prospective of some of these individuals.
Town Talk takes place on the third Wednesday of the month. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Wiscasset Public Library. Come join in the Town Talk.
