Maine Innkeepers will reduce room rates by 50 percent this spring to support Hospitality for Habitat, a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity, announced Maine Innkeepers Association (MEIA) President and CEO Greg Dugal. Participating Innkeepers all over Maine will offer guests half off regular room rates on designated accommodations between April 18 and May 27, 2016in exchange for a $35 donation to Habitat for Humanity.

Hospitality for Habitat has successfully raised over $157,000 to help build or winterize homes for Maine families since 2004, raising a record $23,000 in 2015. The program attracts visitors to Maine during the quiet shoulder season, and gives travelers an opportunity to experience some of the state’s finest lodging properties at greatly reduced rates.

“The statewide chapters of Habitat for Humanity all benefit from this annual fundraiser which has managed to grow a little each year,” said Dugal. “Every dollar raised stays in Maine and helps Maine families in all 8 regions. Visitation continues to increase year after year, while guests enjoy this opportunity to ‘give while getting away’ to terrific B&B’s, Hotels, Inns and Resorts across the state.”

Direct Links to each property will provide information on specific room rates, availability, and individual property restrictions.  Reservations for accommodation between April 18 and May 20, 2016 should be made in advance and tax deductable donations of $35 should be given to the Innkeeper, in the form of a check, written out to Habitat for Humanity. Every dollar donated will be given to Maine chapters of Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for deserving families.
