Clay Adams, a 24-year insurance veteran, has joined J. Edward Knight Insurance. Adams’ experience includes 10 years of handling complex insurance claims for major insurance carriers and 14 years as an agent specializing in marine-related business, energy dealers, contractors and workers compensation throughout northern New England.

“We’re delighted to welcome Clay to J. Edward Knight," said Rob Wheeler, president of the regional insurance agency. “His vast experience will make him a valuable addition to our team.”

Adams will be based in J. Edward Knight’s Bath office, but will be working and lending his expertise throughout the Midcoast region. He is a 1986 graduate of Wiscasset High School, a 1990 graduate of the University of Southern Maine and has two children. He is a member of the Wiscasset Yacht Club. When not advising clients on their insurance needs, he enjoys spending time with family and on his boat as well as hunting and fishing around his camp in Embden.

“Coming to J. Edward Knight is a homecoming for me, having grown up in the area. While I have always had clients in the Midcoast region, to be able to join an organization with such a lengthy history, extensive presence and outstanding reputation in the area, is exciting for me,” Adams said.
